Game Recap
On this warm and humid afternoon, the determined ballists from the Cream City journeyed to Eagle to meet their country rivals. The much anticipated match attracted several hundred cranks to the picturesque hillside location. The Gems captured the lead in the opening round when S. Perkins delivered a stinger off the hurler's shoulder. Fortunately, the gentleman suffered no long lasting effects from the forceful unexpected blow, but the knock did produce a tally when Schiebel struck solidly, driving in the runner.

The city adversaries retaliated with three aces. But the Diamond boys matched it in the third round. Olson and S. Perkins crossed the dish after Jones' ash sent the sphere sailing. However, the sail drooped suddenly, as the home nine's bats were soon silenced for the remaining rounds. A number of fly catches were handsomely caught. Time after time, the visitors plucked orchards of apples from the hazy Eagle skies, retiring the home strikers. It was their day to outshine the hosts with a 8 - 4 victory. Jones, J. Rossbach, and Hoffman lead the local club with two knocks each. The Diamonds took their defeat with becoming grace.
